KFC Partners with Chinese Esports team RNG

When you think of KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) where do you think it’s popularity is the highest? Kentucky? Nope. The Southern United States? Nope. The United States in general? Nope. It’s in Japan and China. How popular is it? Well in China it dominates as the most popular fast food chain in the country with an 11% market share. Ronald McDonald only commands around 5%.

Want to have a fun start to your day? Watch this KFC commercial where Colonial Sanders threatens a Jedi with a display of Kung Fu after he defaces his office. Oh and people are rioting outside for KFC PIZZA.

It’s only natural that KFC China has partnered up with the esports organization RNG for a year term. RNG is famous for it’s League of Legends team but has reach beyond that with PUBG, Clash Royale and FIFA teams as well. They even have their own esports arena in Beijing.

We don’t know a whole lot about the specifics of the partnership but we can likely expect much the same type of arrangement as their Mercedes-Benz deal with apparel, broadcast and stadium application of the KFC logo.

RNG announced the partnership with the release of the poster below:

That’s exactly the type of awesome we were looking for.
