In response to the August 26th tragedy at a Jacksonville Madden 19 tournament where two people lost their lives to a 24 year old gunman, EA has created a fund called the Jacksonville Tribute.
“We’ve heard from so many of you that you would like to support the victims, and to show that this horrific event will not define us, but only serve to make our community stronger”
EA has added $1 Million to get things started and will be allowing public donations soon for those who would like to help the families of victims Taylor Robertson and Elijah Clayton. (as well as those who suffered injuries) On September 6th, EA will host a charity live stream as well to bolster the effort.
It’s good to see EA step up with support for the victims. We also need to see event organizers ensuring safer environments for competitors across the board as well.
