Senior executive officer Susumu Tanaka spoke on crossplay in a Nintendo shareholder meeting assuring that they will directly help developers add crossplay into their games for PC, Xbox or Mobile.
“Crossplay basically comes about from conversations between publishers and platform holders,” Tanaka said. “We are inclined to do what we can to help publishers incorporate crossplay when that is what they want. The other parties involved also have a say in whether we are able to reach this outcome or not, so we will continue to discuss it with them.”
This of course excludes Sony who’s stance on cross play is basically: We don’t give a shit. Meanwhile, Nintendo and Microsoft are creating joint marketing for games like Minecraft that allow both platforms to connect.
