Original Infinity Ward Returning to Activision for Modern Warfare 4?

Infinity Ward was once celebrated as the premiere studio producing Call of Duty games at Activision with the apex of their work being Modern Warfare 4. After lawsuits aimed at Activision over unpaid royalties from Infinity Ward founders Jason West and Vince Zampella, the majority of Infinity Ward left Activision to create a new Studio called Respawn Entertainment. Respawn went on to make Titanfall 1 and 2 to an (undeserved) mediocre response. Respawn was later purchased by EA most likely as a competitor studio for Call of Duty type games but that train may now be derailed as Reddit users have been tracking the return of a lot of the original Infinity Ward team to Activison from Respawn.

We don’t know why these members might be returning to Infinity Ward after so public a divorce but it could be due to a multitude of reasons. Perhaps the tepid response to the Titanfall series put pressure on the company by it’s new owner EA? (EA doesn’t have a shining history with keeping acquired developers in business)
