Well folks so much for the best record and home Ice advantage for the Tampa Bay Lightning in this Eastern Conference Finals as they now travel down to D.C. in the hole (0-2) against the now “most dominant” team in these Playoffs, the Capitols.

Teams down (2-0) and heading to the Road in the NHL Playoffs are a disastrous (1-18) overall in their Series. The good news for the Lightning tonight is the Caps, now an off charts (7-1) on the Road in these 2018 Playoffs, are just (3-3) on their Home Ice.

The Capitols have simply dominated this Series so far, allowing Tampa Bay only one even strength goal these first 2 games. Tampa’s HC Cooper has said his team was “tentative and slow” and that would be an understatement as the Caps have been faster to almost every loose puck so far, generating a huge (69-56) shot advantage. Both teams are (3-7) on the Power Play so far, which we might see a lot of tonight if this game starts off with a Caps goal first. Tampa must skate faster and start to put some hard hits as well to get the team fired up. Their emotions so far in these first 2 games have been worst of any team I’ve watched in these Playoffs so far.

This one has been about one red hot Goalie and one Goalie just totally off his game. Goalie play can be the top factor in helping a team win a Series, and moreso for the underdog team in any Series. The Caps may have come in the Underdog, but no more at this point, as the Caps look like the team who led the Eastern Conference in points this year. The Caps Holtby has stopped 52 of the 56 shots at him, while Tampa has already been forced to pull starter Vasilevskiy. He needs to play his best game all Playoffs, as the Caps home crowd will be insane loud and give the team a huge extra boost.

The Caps have also won both games without stud Center and top All Star Nicklas Backstrom. Lar Eller though has really stepped up in his place, scoring a goal in both Games 1 and 2.

Normally I’d like to first side with a solid team in the hole in a “Must Win” spot when the price is so cheap, but the Lightning have played really sluggish, and their Goalie play has gone South, and at the very worst time possible. The Capitols have underachieved for years, and now they are in the Drivers seat and they smell blood. The past week, game after game in these Playoffs have gone “OVER” the Total Goals ODDS posted by Vegas. At this point, Tampa is not winning a shootout on the Road tonight, so for them to win, it must be a (2-1) type game. The Caps have completely stopped the Lightning on even strength ice time, so they simply need to not commit stupid penalties and give the Lightning a chance with (5-4) man advantage.

Enjoy the game tonight and may all your wagers be WINNING ones!
