MAD MAX GOES FOR WIN #7 TONIGHT BUT OPPOSING STARTER KOCH SOLID!
Major League Baseball Betting is the toughest of all sports as the Betting Line is almost all based off the Starting Pitchers. So for most part, you want to bet the elite Pitchers you must pay a very high Premium betting price.
That is the case tonight as one of the 2 or 3 Best Pitchers in MLB, Max Scherzer takes the hill tonight as he shoots for his 7th win of the season. Max has not allowed over (2) earned run in any of his (8) starts this season and leads the league with (80) K’s in just (51.2) innings. He has a sensational (1.74) ERA, and has 15, 8 and 10 K’s in his last 3 starts. His only weakness really is due to the many K’s, his pitch count soars over 100 and he’s only gone (6.0-6.1) innings in his last 4 starts. If he does that tonight, the Bullpen could be in trouble after a long, extra inning affair vs. the D’backs.
His opposition for the D’Backs is Matt Koch, a guy I profiled here weeks ago that had some solid stuff and was likely to have a break out season for Arizona. So far, he still has not disappointed. He is (2-0), (2.13) ERA, (17) K’s and (7) walks allowed. In his (25) innings of work on the hill he has allowed only (6) earned runs. His only weakness thus far, same as Mad Max’s, not going too deep, as he’s gone (6,6,6,5) in 4 starts so far.
BETTING LINE FOR “SHOWCASE GAME OF DAY”: WASH NATS @ ARIZ D’BACKS
WASHINGTON NATS (SCHERZER) – (-$195) * TOTAL: (7 1/2 RUNS)
DIAMOND NOTES FOR OTHER GAMES FRIDAY MAY 11, 2018:
Also starting tonight are two of the possibly 5 best Starters in MLB, in Houston Astros Justin Verlander and Boston’s Chris Sale.
Verlander is just pitching as good as any Pitcher can ever pitch for a long duration. He has lost only once as a starter since joining the Astros in late July last summer. The one loss was his last start, in which he allowed only 1 earned run, and came up on short end of a (2-1) final. Verlander has a (1.17) ERA, (4-1) and has (47) K’s his last 5 starts. You can count on one hand how many times he’s pitched in serious danger in 2018. Verlander and the Astros Odds tonight: HOUSTON ASTROS (-$265 to -$290) * Total Runs: (8 1/2)
Chris Sale has had a great season so far as well, (3-1) and (2.02) ERA. His last start may have been his best all year, as he had (23) swings and misses, the same combined number he had all season prior. He seemingly had full control of his nasty slider, finally good news for Sauk fans, and he will be tough to beat going forward if that pitch is back to full force again. Sale and the Red Sox are installed as a (-$180) favorite vs. Toronto tonight.
Matt Harvey makes his first start ever not wearing a blue Mets Jersey. He was traded this week to the Reds and will take the hill tonight against the sluggish L.A. Dodgers in Tinseltown. The Dodgers are (-$195) favorite tonight to beat Harvey and his new team.
We have the makings of two Softball type scores as the Pitching Matchups in the Braves/Marlins and A’s/Yankees games have 4 struggling Starting Pitchers thus far this 2018 season. I’ll go with my FREE PICK OF THE DAY (overall Free Pick now 11-1) on the Total (OVER 9 1/2 RUNS) of the A’s/Yankees game in the Bronx. I’m expecting some hot bats, the temp a very nice 70 degrees and the wind blowing out to the short porch fence in Right Field, to be good news for the hitters and bad news for the starters. The A’s starter here, Graveman, has allowed (5+) earned runs in 4 of his 6 starts. The Yankees Sonny Gray did pitch well his last start, but still has a (6.00) ERA this year.
FREE PICK OF DAY/MAY 11. 2018: (TOTAL PLAY) = A’S/YANKEES – “OVER 9 1/2” RUNS
COOL NOTES FOR FRIDAY MLB ACTION: MAY 11, 2018
The SF Giants (fresh off being swept in a long 4 game Series with the Phillies) head to Pittsburgh in what will be longtime former All Star and Fans #1 Favorite Player Andrew McCutcheon’s first trip back to his old town. I am sure the welcome back cheer will last a few mins.
Also tonight, we mentioned Gray and the Yankees as part of our Free Pick of the Day. Well Gray will be not only facing his old mates wearing Green and Yellow, but in the A’s starting lineup will be one of the players the Yankees traded to Oakland to acquire Gray, his name is Dustin Fowler. It will be his first time facing both the team that traded him and Gray as well. Great stuff to watch whenever this happens.
Enjoy the games tonight and may all your wagers be WINNING ones.
