NHL PLAYOFFS “SHOWCASE GAME OF DAY”: VEGAS @ SAN JOSE (GAME 6)
They say the hardest game to win in any Series in Sports is the last one, in Hockey and Hoops it’s WIN #4. That’s the spot the Las Vegas Golden Knights are now in, as a win tonight send them to the Western Conference Finals. In what has been the most Amazing story in all Sports for many years, the Knights can continue on with this Hollywood type movie script, and best part is, this is a “true story”, that I almost still can’t believe.
If the Knights win this Series, they will be the 3rd Franchise in NHL History to advance to Round 3. The Knights are (3-1) on the Road in the Playoffs, but they’ve actually been outscored (9-8) so far. San Jose is (3-1) at Home this Playoffs, outscoring opponents (17-6) overall. The Sharks won the last game at the SAP Center (4-0).
For the most part, outside of the Knights blowout (7-0) win in Game 1, this Series has been very evenly played. Vegas has committed (30) penalties and the Sharks have committed (31). Vegas has allowed 5 Power Play goals the past 4 games.
Vegas has managed to stop the Sharks #1 Line, but the #2 Line (Couture, Hertl, Boedker) have gotten (16) points in this Series, and must be held in check tonight if the Knights want to close out this Series.
The Golden Knights have rode the coat tails of longtime All Star Goalie Fleury, who is now just one win shy of (70) career Playoff wins. The Knights have 7 players to have at least one goal in this Series, only Karlsson has more then one. But he has not scored a point in Games 4 and 5, and must get back into the scoring column tonight for the Knights to pull the road Upset.
LAS VEGAS ODDS – LAS VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS @ SAN JOSE SHARKS (-140) (TOTAL: -5 1/2 GOALS) Note: (Under 5 1/2 goals is: -125) (430PM/PST) (NBSCBN)
SAN JOSE: Lost (11) of last (12) Series when they were down (3-2).
SAN JOSE: (3-8) facing elimination at Home, just (6-18) overall.
VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS: Will Carrier is a game time call, missing practice yesterday.
This Series has gotten a little chippy of late, and the Knights really need to score that first goal, to keep the crowd quiet. Before Vegas opened this year and I witnessed the insane crowd here, it was always to me that San Jose was the loudest fans/crowd I’d ever been to for a NHL game. The Sharks hope to do what they did in Game 4, grab lead and keep crowd energized. I didn’t bet this game as my NHL Playoffs picks have been so Hot these Playoffs, (+21 UNITS), I’ll just root on my home team and hope the Road is nice to us.
If the Sharks win and send this Series to the 7th game, that game will be at T-Mobile Center in Las Vegas on Tuesday night at 7pm/Pst.
Key NOTE in Boston/Tampa Bay Series: Bruins top Defensemen Torey Krug is out for Game 5 and will miss the rest of this Series with a bad ankle injury.
God Bless and enjoy the game, and may all your Wagers be WINNING ones!
